"People are like slinky. They don't do much, but they are fun to push down the stairs" -Unknown

The silence is stoic,
And concealed,
And condensed,
It’s lonely,
And sad,
And contests happiness—
When life is silent—
Then something is wrong,
Maybe by death—
But it could merely be,
Silence whispers truth,
That people can’t see,
And when people can’t see,
They don’t really believe
Silence,
A myth?
Or do you believe?

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece to talk about how busy and fast paced our world is, and how hard it is to find time just to be quiet and listen.I also wrote it because I think that alot of people are maybe afraid of silence and that is why they try and fill the silence with unplanned words that just make it worse. So just sit back relax and take the time to be quiet and listen to the world around you.

is there ever really silence? perhaps God is really talking to us, but we just don't take the time to hear.

"People believe that if we really want to eliminate something, focus on that. How much sense does it make for us to give the particular problem all of the energy, as opposed to focusing on trust, love, living in abundance, education, or peace? -Un.

I'd agree when you say "silence is sad." I have times when I'm alone at home, and I have nobody to talk to and nothing to do. Next time, I will listen to silence, I will wait for it to tell me what's wrong.

This poem was really touching to me.
