Burning
The chemical reaction wasn't enough
The forever crawling ice engulfed us at last
You never cared
When I was haunted by my past
If only we could pretend that everything had mattered
Then we wouldn't have been left scarred
You're so good at pretending
But I'm not regretting anything I've done
In this war you wish that you won
You're pushing me away so I want run
Then you reverse my words
Like needles on my tongue
You're crushing me down to nothing but dust
And you expect me to keep my trust?
You're telling people lies to keep you floating
But soon you'll sink like lead
You can be happy with what was
But it will never be again
You'll have to wait until the sun sinks forever
And the rain floods the rest of the world
We'll have nowhere to turn
And we'll all watch the liar BURN
