Teenage angst buried inside,
Taking lives like cyanide.
Always deeper than it seems,
Hidden low in self-esteem.
Parties, drugs, and sex appeal,
Perceived innocence to steal.
Drama, fake love, unreal friends,
Striving after latest trends.
Always wanting to be loved,
Drunk and gone, she gave it up.
Confusion, hurt, putrid hate,
Finding someone new to date.
Yelling in your mother's face,
Longing for personal space.
This is what it’s like for us,
This is what we won’t discuss.
Pelvis deep in bitter strife,
Finding who we are in life.

Yeah, I get your point.  I myself have never experienced anything like that, but believe you me when I say that more than 75% of the kids at my school have, and I go to a small school.  Not wanting to sound pushy, but could you check out my article Swinging?  It was the first one I got published and I'm kind of proud of myself.  Thanks!

I liked it and agree....it is just a big search to find who we are, where we fit in and it can be fun, but also a terrible!

I agree. The poem doesn't apply to all teens. As a matter of fact, nothing in the poem really applies to me either, but I wanted to write it from the voice of someone that all this stuff does apply to (which is probably the majority of the kids at my school).

That was very good.   But, we aren't like that all the time, are we?  Teenagers, I mean.  We've got some times when Life is good.  When Life makes sense.  It isn't all loud music and locked doors.
