when I wake up
This nightmare is over
When I wake up.
This day will be long,
I dread getting up.
Back to my nightmare life.
Whenever it ends, there's
No worries, no pain,
No struggling through rain.
I dread getting up
For more hours of strain.
My day is so hard
These people so shallow,
Their voices I hear.
And try as I might,
I can't drain them out-
It's like being blind to light.
A nightmare I'm in:
But it will be over
When I wake up.
I climb into bed,
Put my arms around Him,
and pinch myself awake
From this nightmare, again.
