Before you judge me why don't you let me tell you about my life?
Sometimes it's best to forget how you feel and remember what you deserve.

Dear Emma,

Remember no wave is greater than the ocean
Your life is no greater than the lives of others
But I love you dearly because you are my own
Your life has been a sequence of events
Describing your strength and your courage
It’s hard for me to let you go

Remember when you first learned to ride your bike
I was standing there with you
I was hunched over you holding you up
Being your rock
Your foundation
Everything I thought you needed
As you became my courage my strength
You told me to let go
I wasn’t ready to give you away
But I knew that it was time for you to grow
I pulled my hands off the bike
When you began to peddle
I was just as scared as you
Scared of you falling and getting hurt
Scared of letting you go and you never coming back
But I knew that you needed this and I needed this
You fell to the ground with a crash
But you got up and looked at me and smiled
You got back on the bike all on your own
I grabbed hold and you tried again
You fell countless times but always got back up
You had strength that at that moment I couldn’t fathom
You were everything I wanted to be and
You would always be my little girl

Remember your first day of school
You held my hand all the way up to your door
Gave me a hug and a kiss
Love you Mama you told me
I love you Emma
Then you were gone
I was not ready to let you go
For you to be by your self
For you not to need me
For you to let go sooner than I could
But that was how you always were
Ready to let go when I was so unsure
I had to learn how to let you go
I stood there for a second
Staring at you from the door
Being your rock
Your foundation
Everything I thought you needed
As you became my strength and courage
You rushed off with the other kids
You laughed as you played
You looked back at me
You blew me a kiss
And I waved good-bye and left
Because I knew that though you didn’t need me then but
You would always be my little girl

Remember when you got your ears pierced
How hard I tried to hold on
How tight you help my hand
I told you to breath
How hard you stared at me
How scared we were
While you sat in that chair
And I stood by your side
Being your rock
Your foundation
Everything I thought you needed
As you became my strength and courage
Before I knew it
It was done
And you were growing up in the meantime
Becoming what I knew you always would but
You would always be my little girl

Remember your first day of high school
How I looked at you and realized
You were no longer the same girl
I had seen on the bike so many years before
You had grown and I had learned how to let you go
So that you could become the person you were destined to be
There you stood by my side
Being my rock
My foundation
Everything I needed
While I learned my strength my courage
Your hair done and your make up on
But you had that same smile
The one I will always remember
You gave me a hug and a kiss
Love you Mama
You told me
I love you Emma
Then you were gone
You had become everything I knew you were destined to be but
You would always be my little girl.

I wrote this from my Mama's point of view. I saw how much it hurt her to see me growing up and how much she wanted to keep me as her baby girl but soon she saw that I was turning into an amazing young lady because of everything she did for me, because she learned to let go.

"bad blood is more satisfying to spill across the floor..."

Wow this is long...but quite good nonetheless.  I really like how you told it from a mother's point of view.  Keep up the awesome work!
