The affliction of a wound
From a stranger
Is disheartening
From an enemy
Stings
From a brother
Dishonest
From a friend

Cruel

Open rebuke
Is better
Than secret
Wrath
Critic
Lies

Anger is
Outrageous
It wasn’t my
Fault
I expected this
I knew they weren’t true
Friends
Deep down somewhere

The author's comments:
I wrote this after I found out that the girl I'd known and loved since we were toddlers had been talking behind my back and telling my secrets to other people for a couple years. It really hurt me, and this poem explains how I felt at the time.

It's a hard time for me right now. A lot of different things have been... bring me down, everything with my friends doesn't help either. I have little to no support with them. I don't know what to say. I think it is human -- we are sinful. I think people can do or say whatever they want to others. I think they should never leave someone just because... You know?

I also feel this pain. I never knew exactly who they were inside. They left me for another group of girls. I just get to sit around and watch.
