It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all..

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind - Ghandi

Along the war-swept country they tread
Marking their personal journey
Writing it into history’s dusty pages
In the form of footprints in the soil

Those years ripped away from them
Stolen – like taking candy from a baby
No one told them the scars you can’t see
Would be the hardest ones to bear

Again the lone trumpet echoes
Across the country they’re protecting
But could never claim as their own
The only sound of hope left to cling to

Too many made the greatest sacrifice
Dying to protect the country they loved
Someone’s brother, now confined to the dust
But living on in Australians’ hearts

This is for the soldiers who, without them
We would have no freedom, no democracy
Happiness would be all but a dream
These are the greatest heroes the world will know

I wrote this for ANZAC day this year... I can't figure out whether I'm happy with it or not, but I strongly believe these amazing people deserve to be remembered... they truly are heroes. Lest we forget.

I'm trying to find myself as a person, sometimes that's not easy to do. Millions of people live their entire lives without finding themselves. But it is something I must do. -Marilyn Monroe

This is great!! I love it!
