Unrequited Love
A seething passion bathes my soul
And lights my eyes
For you
But you don’t know that
So much raw feeling
Uncorrupted love
Tumults in my heart
The huge throbbing lump
Pumps this passion mercilessly to ever corner
Of me
But you don’t know that
Your eyes are carefree
Your smile holds nothing
Your visage hints at nothing
That I want to see
And I think I might melt if you smile again
O curse this emotion
That brings as much pain as it does happiness
Almost as much
My veins course with sadness
But my heart pumps joy
Because why should I be said in the face of a first love?
O curse this emotion that makes me long for a glimpse of you in the rushing crowds that don’t have time for love
O curse it!
And maybe then I would not grow fainthearted at your accidental touch
How could you do this to me!
How could you not know, not feel
The tension I can feel
How can you look into my eyes and not see, not feel
The light that will forever burn for you in my soul!
It is radiating off me every second of every day
And you can’t feel what I feel
And you can’t see me the way I see you
How could you not!
I wonder if you ever will?
