my heart slowly breaks
as u mend it with your words
in a world where i can't breathe
i find solace in your breath
you pulled me from shark infested waters
only to strand me on an island
where my only protection was you
but that only lasted so long
your existence pulled me up
i learned to depend on it
and now it's not there
and i'm falling again
i said i'd never do this again
become dependent on another for strength
but i did
i just wished you knew.
