How 'bout we pretent this title is clever?
Remember when forever used to mean two hours?
Remember when talking meant smearing notes on mirrors
Fogged from steamy showers?
Remember when we didn’t need to speak to share?
We just whispered with our eyes
Secrets we couldn’t share.
And we’d finish the sentences poised on the lips of the other?
Remember when we’d swim in the muggy crick-song night
Lost in our own faces and stories and hypothetical kisses of boys who didn’t exist?
Remember when we were little and life was easy and we cried over scuffed knees?
Remember?
Remember?
Because sometimes, I think we forget.
