Midnight Mockingbird
Midnight mockingbird,
Come sing to me tonight,
And let your secret melodies carress my ear,
Of sounds I'll never tell.
Fear not, little bird,
Don't dwell upon past flights and falls,
Nor forward to blinding yellows and somber blacks.
But come, sweet bird, pearch upon my finger,
And rest your fluttered wings.
