Soothing, yet disturbing
Contradicting itself as it hits the earth
Soaking the grass and molding the gravel
Rain makes us tired, yet we stay awake to watch it fall
Each drop impossible to look at, but our children still try to count them
One, Two, Three...Too many
You can hear it hit the window pane
This sound that I find calming
is what scared me as a child
This sound is why my dog sleeps at the foot of my bed
This sound is what cleanses the earth of its wrongs
This is a God fo saken event that we all experience in every part of the world
It creates a smell afterwords
Almost like when a baker puts out fresh bread and you can smell the factory
Or like when you blow a candle out
This rain has a special look
Like when you cry
Or like when you drive by a sprinkler and the water leaves splotches on your car
But this rain, this rain has come to welcome a baby, and to say farewell to a loved one
This rain has come and gone
This rain will come again

Love it! love your imagery! ... Im not really a huge fan of rain , but Ill look at it differently now.. lol

oh i LOVE it just inspiring i never thought about rain as being positive essence in the rain, rain usually scared me while i was little but i never saw a little kid try to count the rain drops cause thats obviously impossible but just amazing, inspiring, exellent, outstanding, just wonderful
