Heart like Rain
You don’t think I see
The way you sit
With your hip
Cocked to one side
Because you think you look so good
With that smile
On your face but it’s so fake
I can see it with my eyes
You look good you think
But inside you feel bad
Like a stormy day
In May
When the sun should shine
But it only winds down
Through clouds that rain
I can see your heart pain
Like them
Long dollops of tears thrown
From a headstrong girl’s head
Onto a pillow
And your hair like a
Willow tree around your face
Weeping
And inside
Almost die
Shut yourself off but what
Good will that do you
When you need a friend because
On the outside there is
Me but
Inside yourself there is
Only you
And isn’t that what’s holding you back?
You look good you think
With that smile
On your face but it’s so fake
I can see it in my eyes
