Requiem of a Madman
If not for the words of a troubled soul,
When darkness doth give way to light;
The driving madness has taken a toll -
And immersed the sun in eternal night.
Beyond the shattered, glass you wonder,
Amidst a dream that tells a tale -
Of a golden sea that tore asunder,
A meager ship with a silver sail.
As fire, doused by the storms will die,
The smoke will rise before the rain.
With sanity shattered the soul did cry,
“One note 'tis a cure for one insane.”
You dare not breathe, your life is over,
Family gathers; friends look on.
Their faces are ashen, their expressions are sober,
Towards their departed, the willing pawn.
