Longmont High, 2010
I look at you through my closed eyes
Savoring every second
Knowing that this will never come again
Making this all the more precious
Words hover in the air
It is impossible to stop and stare
When your eyes are stinging with tears
Losing out is your deepest fear
Wanting, wishing, praying, pleading
That this year will never end
Crying, dying, lying, hiding
From all the new things to descend
Knowing and hating the fate that occurs
Life's precious, sacred memories
Will never be deserted
Memories that make or break a life
Stories to tell that will make light
These are the days we carry with us forever
These are the people we will never forget
And this is a year I'll carry without regrets.
(LONGMONT HIGH, 2010)
