They see books
Learning and smarts
They see intelligence
Careers in the future

They see friends
Social interactions
They see appearances
And a new grant

I see an iron cage
Locked doors and few windows
I see useless information
Forced into our brains

I see fools getting by
Knowing what test makers want to hear
I see people
Endless debates and yelling

I see who my peers are
Through their facades
And I watch
The school collapse around us.
