Maybe it is fate that you are reading this, or maybe not. For example, in the autumn the leaves fall, as they do every year, only to be reborn in the spring. In truth, all fate is is beginnings and endings. The where, when, how and why can be changed. Everything in nature will eventually pass, but that does not mean that one does not have the power to fight against it. Some give up on the impossible battle, but some continue to fight. The battle is indeed impossible, for in the end fate will triumph. Yet the purpose of this battle is to prolong the end, and to make one’s fight worthwhile. “That one could ever triumph over fate/is a foolish thought/an impossibility.” Just because something is impossible doesn’t mean that one shouldn’t try. Life is a battle, and the harder you fight the more you will be able to accept the ending. Maybe when November’s harsh winds blow the last leaf off the tree, the leaf surrenders with a sigh of relief, eagerly awaiting its eternal sleep, or, yet again, maybe not.
