The stench of my broken promise
Lingers in my bed sheets
Along with taunting tear stains.
The gasping for air
As I'm crunched over trying to breath
While "what if's" encroach my mind
Becomes like a soothing lullaby
Singing me to sleep each night.
The realization of loneliness
As it settles deep in my stomach
Leaving a constant nausea
Becomes like shackles
Trapping me in hours of heartwrenching depair
And uncontrollable sobs
As I slowly fall to pieces.
Because of one word (goodbye)
Because of one click (sign off)
Because of one choice (stay away)
