Whiskey Dreams
sunset showers
kiss chilled skin
trickling
downward
1000 eyes
align the walls
averting gazes
feel their burn
hushed lies
soothes
serpent’s tongue
flickering
in
out
flung in the grass
and hung to dry
like salvation
withdrawn
through tracks of dust
open arms
embrace
this private hell
fog induced haze
flashing silver
lights
up
sleeping sky--electric dawn
smudges
through drops
of acid
filled to the brim
tasting of rain
and regrets
mocking
me,
you
we are

under an infinite sea
where
sickly branches
scrape the skyline
deceitful silhouettes
cast shadows
webs
of woe
spun by the fates
snap
tight
cut
we
all
drown
