I feel you with every breath I take
I see you in every person I see
My mind wanders from memory to memory.
What did I do wrong?
What did I say?
There is no end to the tears that I shed for you. No end to the love that I felt for you.
The heart that belonged to you and only you is now broken into tiny shards
Your words hit me like fire hits ice. “We can still be friends”
Then I wake up
And realize…
Why should you get the satisfaction of my broken heart?
Why should I be the one to blame?
Your mind tricks will not work on me. I see the real you. Your cold heart will no longer linger with mine.
