The Beach
Stingrays glide like smoke-gray spaceships under the rippling chestnut sand
As I soak in the giant bathtub that is the warm sapphire sea
The rippling waves sing the song of the sea
Which makes my heart bubble with joy
“Eek! Eek!” the cry of the seagull threatens the song of the sea
Shattering my peace
And renting the sky into pieces that tumble into the sea
And yet, as I inhale the fresh green scent of the sea
And let the hot white pepper sand slip through my hands like a waterfall
As I dash across the carpet of sizzling white sand
I taste peace
