Landslide
my chest aches
 mind slathered across
 gravel and stone
 no peace for mourners
 no peace for memory
 and when the bell tolls
 all there is to know
 is dust in company

 breathing out tar nicotine
like its all thats left to understand
 only thing left thats sacred
 unchanging, addiction
 times an old friendship
 gone and turned sour
 and you forgot who
 you were becoming
 fading

but you don't want to let go
and this is all you have
scared of jumping into an abyss
 incapable of resufacing.
 this is your dilema
but life has you under its toe
 kicking and screaming
 never gonna let go

 so take another drag
 tell the world to hell
 close your eyes
 wipe away those tears
 and go.
