You'll Always Be Near
When you look at me,
I can't help but wonder what you see.
Is it pretty?
Is it fair?
Do you love me enough to care?
In light of the question, I'll ask it myself;
your opinion isn't good for my health.
So I turn to you to shed some light,
on my world in the darkest night.
So as I hold my breath and wait,
I can't help but think;
My options are slim,
The world seems so grim.
Why does it feel like,
You're tearing me limb from limb?
No, I don't blame you;
My troubles are my own.
Yet you could really change the tone.
But with harsh whispers of lies
and feelings long departed,
we went our separate way my dear.
What if our memories fade, I fear.
Then I remember your smile,
Your laugh,
Your eyes,
and I know when I look in my heart,
You'll always be near.
