A new chance

Yesterday I had a chance
I blew the chance
And chose not to say hello.
Tonight you are not here.
Just like every other night lately.
But tonight I am happy.
Happily becoming brave.
Bravery to start a new friendship
And to jump ahead in time.
Forgetting simple things tonight
Has easily become the source of laughter.
As I jump into bed.
A special moment or two
In my head.
Yesterday it happened.
And today I'm alone.
Peacefully enjoying these memmories
As new ones are made
