"All things dear disappear."

Down here on the dirt
between each pained breath and lost dream, I pray
for a moment of freedom to forget
for a moment to forget skies of sun and gray

Trade my lungs
for a set of wings
to lift me away
from everything this world brings

Away from these unbearable days
to where I'd never have to feel the ground
untouchable by time, by hands,
by gravity, by sound

If I jump from the edge
don't make me find what's real
bring me higher than I can go
for a split second, let me heal

A silent escape
into a solitary atmosphere
I'd rather be there
I'd rather exist far away from here

to the outside of time
of pain and happiness, of living and dying
leaving love, hate, life behind
because I'm off,
I'm flying.

I'm not really as depressed as this poem sounds. It just worked out like that. Hopefully you don't feel this way
