Orange
So long have I fought your orange perception
For I have seen crimson deception
In the sweet translucency
Of your cold blue eyes
So long have you said that I touched this orange skin
Meanwhile have I held your dark grey sin
Kissing your wood-brown heart
And your ice blue eyes
So long you’ve defined orange in the mirror
But your forest green soul I never saw clearer
Than down in muddy rivers
From your melting blue eyes
So long you wrote me on orange-stained pages
Begging me to fall into your purple-named cages
Your silver words implored me to dive
Into your pooled-blue eyes
So long you spoke in a conjured orange rhyme
To me the absence of one seemed a crime
There was no orange in the song of you
Or in your vaporized eyes of blue
