Darkness
Dark, dark that’s all I see
And all I feel is the warmth of huddled bodies all around me
What we would give to have a drop of water.
The taste
That one little drop could refill one soul
To keep going to keep fighting to hold on and not let go
Visions fill our heads of old times
Family sitting around laughing playing having fun
Standing around the table listening to father pray
Going to sleep and having peaceful dreams
Waking up to sunshine
Beautiful wonderful sunshine
Not anymore
Now the visions of new and bad times fill my head
The hate generated from evil men
The dead bodies killed and left to burn
No proper burial for our loved ones
Now there is no prayer to be found
Forbidden by evil man
Belief lost no one holds on tight enough
They’re letting go
Now we go to sleep with darkness and hatred
Afraid the evil man will come in and kill us
While we sleep
No more waking up to sunshine
No it’s the dark stormy skies
Ashes from bodies killed and gone
Floating from the sky like snow on a winters day
Now we wait
Wait for the freedom from the evil man
Freedom that gives us life after death
Freedom to pray, to sleep and wake when we please
Yet every day after we will always have that vision
Morning after morning we will remember
The sight and how we had felt, it will always be with us
For ever and always
Never again should someone go through this pain
And never should we forget
