i am the captain of my soul ...i am the master of my fate

i open my eyes
to absorb what lies
which at a glance
can never be grabbed

i see the yellow beach
which is within my reach
along with the blue waves
which race a long the sea

i smell the salt
and feel the breeze
which brushes my hair
and touches my face

i walk along the shore
with the great ball of fire
and touch the cold sand
as i sit n face the sea

the sky turns red
and the land more dark
as i get up to leave
my favourite sight

i walk back unhappily
but turn one last time
i close my eyes.........

and absorb my peace

I like this poem, but the last line is a little faltering. It's true "absorb" is a great word, but is it a great word there? I don't know, it's really your choice. It's a good poem; really painted a picture in my mind.
