How exteremely hard it is
If you see me all alone
 and I’m truly all alone,
and if you just pass by
 instead of saying hi,
 remember how extremely hard
 it is to hug yourself.
When you see me sit alone
 at an empty lunchroom table,
 and when you move on
 to sit with friends,
 remember: it’s extremely hard
 to hug yourself.
 When I’m simply alone
 all by myself,
 I can only hope
 that you know
 how extremely hard
 it is to hug yourself.
 Because when I see you
 all alone and abandoned
I’m sure I’d come say hi,
‘cause I sure know how extremely hard
 it is to hug yourself.
