Your Foolish Consequence
I watch God’s cold, harsh tears layer the ground
Feeling the sharp flakes freeze my skin
I shut my heavy eyes
The cold bites my toes and works its way up
My bones chatter and shake, leaving then feeling hallow
Look what you’ve done
My attempt to shun you from my mind
Has backfired
My cannon has ricocheted
Leaving me with a hole
Where my cold heart should be
I lean my head back, feeling
Jack Frost’s mark on my face
I fall back, allowing the thick, barren ground
To catch me
The feeling of glass splits my back
And flows through me, but
This pain will heal
Time heals everything, you said
But my heart’s still cold
My emotions still frozen
In time
I just lay, allowing myself to be swallowed
Loosing feeling, I understand how my
Insides and out are
Cold
Look what you’ve done
