"How do you feel? That is the question, but I forget you don't expect an easy answer. When something like a soul becomes initialized and folded up like paper dolls and little notes you can't expect a bit of hope..."
-Stone Sour "Through the Glass"

Forgotten lies lay buried in a chasm of despair.
I foresee this inner darkness attempting to prevail.
Although we fight for bitter defeat,
against all blurry odds.
I'll still refuse to take the fall,
and grovel for thy gods.
Too frail are hearts attacked by fear for death.
I can't keep breathing when I'm out of breath.
I may have knelt to you before,
against all blurry odds.
I'll still refuse to take the fall,
and grovel for thy gods.
Dark chasms within the reflecting glass,
I foresee our gravest doom.
We will all be defeated
and left to ponder this fume.
Yet I refuse to take the fall
and grovel for the sake of your gods.

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece because I'm a person that is always trying to act tough, so I thought it would be nice to just let the words flow and see how I felt about self-esteem and inner power. I also wrote this because I'm kind of what some people call "different" and there was somebody that once told me that I needed to find Jesus. I'm not atheist or anything like that but religion scars me, so this is kind of saying that I won't be a "god-fearing" young lady because I am comfortable with who I am and the choices I've made in life.
