Spectacular Blue-Greens
painted across the sky
Impossibly suspended
Incessantly transformed
Iridescently lovely
A river of color
only seen in the
perpetual darkness

Remarkable Creams
layered in a perfect sphere
Inadvertently created
Increasingly valued
Incredibly fortuitous
The embodiment of grace
Only found in the
Ugliest of Stones

Truly beautiful things may surprise you
not everything is revealed in first glances
Never give up, it will be worth every struggle
you may be pleased at what you find in second chances

The author's comments:
The first part of the poem is describing the Northern lights.
The second part of the poem is describing a pearl in an oyster.
It's about finding beauty where you may not have first expected it. The northern lights in a cold, dark and barren wasteland. A pearl in an ugly, grey, rock-like oyster shell. You can't judge a book by it's cover, as the saying goes.

Thank you so much! That means a lot to me! I actually had to write a poem for english class and this was the result. I actually have an interesting story behind the meaning of it. :)
