Not a Place
A lawyer in a suit
Pressed skirt and breasted coat
The same color navy
With heels not too tall
And hair curled
Not one out of place
A lawyer in a suit
Sitting on a bench
Surrounded by the laughter
Of those who know nothing
Like she
Just kids
Screaming shouting jumping
Not a smile on her face
A lawyer in a suit
In a park
Trying to leave the world
Get out of the court
And into a dreamland
Watching a child’s playground
Staring into space
A lawyer in a suit
Five minutes left until return
In the shade of an oak
Eating a cone
Licking each drop of chocolate
Into a moment’s bliss
Thinking of a happier place
