Encircled by clusters of towering pine trees
Mists of smoke danced slowly across the fresh, crisp air
Killing the illusion of the environment’s organic nature
Marring the pure, smog-free atmosphere

Flames of fire furiously devoured the jagged barks
Licking the leathery edges of the leaves
Rhythmically gnawing their curvy silhouettes
Ignoring the desperate pleas for compassion
Continuing to engulf the weeping souls
Menacing them with scorching claws

With the task complete
The fire extinguished itself
Vanishing into thin air
No traces of its presence
Just a pile of burnt debris
An emblem of immense suffering
