Unreachable Beauty
This is my struggle; this is my defeat
Craving to be beautiful;
Yet imperfections shackle my feet
Porcelain skin; white as snow
Stony eyes reflect my soul
These smiles are tears costumed for show
Colorblind life; world of apathy
Screaming in the silence
Yet no one seems to notice me
I'm not fine, but I'm still lying
'Cause I'll stand tall behind a mask
Just to keep these hopes from dying
It doesn’t matter; I don’t suffice
And though I try to be perfect
My heart will pay the final price
And now these fragile walls are breaking
Slowly falling piece by piece
My sanity for the taking
And as my heart lies in misery
I'll sink below as darkness calls
With happiness just a memory
