A Blackened Rose

A faceless stranger she wanders
All alone in darkness
A blackened rose falls to ashes
In her way, a carcass

A silent beauty among the seas
One drop of morning dew
A chameleon hidden among leaves
Sheer moonlight shy and new

A lone cloud in vast endless sky
A violet in soft moss
Hidden from view from passer-bys
Tormented and at loss

A single thread on cloth
Snaking its way through blank whiteness
The broken wings of a moth
Her soul tattered and a white darkness

Forgotten she may be
Lost among the sea of pale wheat
She bares a silver key
To everlasting black defeat

A dark strange mystery
A blank outcast so unwelcome
Black, threadbare history
Her mind set in total darksome

Ebony, silver, gold
Her life is counted by black coins
Lies and danger she holds
To Death she freely takes and joins

A kiss of sweetened death
The shadow of His dark passing
Regret upon her breath
He toasts to life everlasting
