The Dancer
High on the stage
Has pride only for herself
Confident in what she is doing
Filling the air with her beauty and grace
She twirls and pivots
Without a care in the world
Seeming to be free as a butterfly taking flight
Her face filled with wonder
The song comes to a close
The bars and chords finally coming to an end
Her last leap has been made
Happiness changing the expression on her face
The crowd applauses
As her dance comes to an end
Her leaps and spins are finally over
The wave of sound rushing over her
Tears brimming her eyes as she looks into the crowd
Her smile fades as she doesn’t find the eyes
The eyes of whom she is searching
There is something wrong, but she has no clue
The curtains close, and she runs off
Running into the audience as quickly as she can
It is true, whom she is searching is missing
No longer able to be found again
She hears the news and falls to the ground
Unable to comprehend the things around her
Her mother has passed away
And her will to dance is no more
Around her the people try to comfort her
To absolutely no avail
Her mother is not coming back
And the dancer has danced her final dance
