Seeing isn't believing. Believing is seeing.

Oh Mister Teddy,
With soft fur and button eyes,
How I loved you all those years.

When I was younger,
And you were first mine,
Your arms held me and comforted me
Through the night.
As I grew older, your arms grew smaller
And soon I was holding you,
Holding you together
As you feel apart from all the love
That was lavished upon you.

You, Mister Teddy,
You were there when I cried,
When the yelling became too loud.
You were there after my first kiss,
My first breakup.
You were there when I went off to school,
When I came home again.
Always, Mister Teddy, you were there.

And now, Mister Teddy,
You lie there in pieces,
Your stuffing spilling from your belly.
One black button eye
Dangles from a single thread.
Yet, you’re still there for me,
Mister Teddy, though I don’t need you anymore.
You’re still watching over me,
My teddy bear guardian.
