There can be no society without poetry, but society can never be realized as poetry, it is never poetic. Sometimes the two terms seek to break apart. They cannot.
-Octavio Paz

I long to live all the days of my life.
Death will not be received when
Squeezing the doorknob,
For I am locked away to the trees,
Locked away to the leaves.
They encompass me and to the Earth,
I am a servant.
Pleasantly, I sit at the feet of the
Wisest mountain.
And when I ascend to the clouds,
I will breathe the air of many
Years past, and many years to come.
I am immortal, and so it will seem
For all the days of my life.
The door is unlocked and ajar.
I am embraced by a familiar man.
Death shall now sit in my place,
As I take a step outside of
This abode and onto the stoop,
Into a new world.

I know right...sometimes when I get in the flow of writing, everything just comes out and I read it over and over trying to understand from what I was inspired by or where the words came from.

Even I, the author, read it again and again to truly breathe the message I am trying to get across. Thank you, dear:)

This is a great piece. I love it when I have to read a poem over and over  to fully grasp what the writer wanted to get across. Once again, you did a great job.
