Auntie <3
I thought of you yesterday
And times before that too
I think of all I didn't say
And hope to God you knew
I regret all those times of silence
When you weren't what you used to be
I hate all those times addiction pushed us aside
When we couldn't see love was the key.
I search my mind for that sweet little gold
Our irreplacable love in the past
And all the little things that I had dismissed
Because life just moves too fast
I remember your times of stability
WHen you said everything needs to be fair
I thought you were the strongest ever
I never dreamed that you wouldn't be there
Some days are worse than others
There's no more memories to save
And there's no way out of understanding
So I come to cry at your grave
I wish you could have more time
And I wish it would just be okay
And I wish there were more signs
I wish we had one more day
To tell you what you were to us
To speak of all you did
To tell of all the tings you taught us
When we were little kids
So even though you're gone
And even though I miss you still
Who you were lives on in us
And it always will
