Youth Medecine
An infectious disease
Like an undeserved applause
And itches like carpet
A cracked window when the heater’s on
(No one likes room temperature)
Like getting hit with a club and not a sword
Like offering someone your hand
And not your lips
High School is one foot inside the box
And girl’s (girls) with paperclip eyebrows
But stares like Mexican wrestlers
Where boys sit like bananas
And laugh like asthmatic transmissions
They talk like chess boards
And move syrup
And the air is curry powder
And the cure?
We eat frozen yogurt instead of Ben and Jerry’s
