In their beds,
In the dark,
They sleep,
They dream,
And then they hear
That music oh-so-clear.

The flutes are dancing,
Pirouetting,
Singing a sweet melody.
Clarinets, they back the sound
Humming in pure harmony.
Mallets prancing on the keys
Of the silver xylophone,
And as they go
The trumpets slow
Coming to a lovely halt.
Lowering his magic wand
The conductor heaves a giant sigh,
And says, “Well done, my faithful friends.”

But they do not hear,
For the magic ends
When all the children awake.

what a lovely poem! You had the perfect word choice so that even if I couldn't exactly picture what you were talking about, I could feel and hear it which is exactly what a good poem does. I'd love to read some more of your work and if you have some time to look at some of mine that'd be great too.

In response to Jenu- It's supposed to be a dream actually, there's no real meaning, it's just meant for you imagination and enjoyment. I'm glad you liked it and I hope this helps you understand it better.

What...what is this about? What is the meaning here? It's great...and I love the imagery and all...but the meaning is very subtle and very hard to grasp...please explain!
