Oblivion
So hard to fall asleep at night
Trying to find the good in it all
Sleeping towards the light
But awakening away from the sun
As the minutes play slower
The sounds begin to rush over me
Our lives start spinning around
Leaving us behind in the dust
Cold and lonely I stay
Until someone comes to find me
They don’t know what to do
So they pretend all is fine
The melody in my head so beautiful
Seductively sweet and tantalizing
The music’s tempo starts to change
The notes clashing against each other
So lost to the world around me
Closing my eyes one final time
Floating me upward to the sky
To the new place we call oblivion
