The disaster struck before anyone had the chance to get away. It was the four most devastating minutes of their lifetime. It left thousands homeless. There was no clean water, no food, and every house was destroyed. Diseases spread all around killing hundreds...

Haiti was no longer a peaceful country.

The author's comments:
January 12, 2010 was a devastating event. I thought it was awful. I had to write about it.

That is a good point. Maybe for the people that lived there, It might have been to them.

i like it but i think its too short aswel, i think if it was a little longer it would be stronger and you know, more powerful but its still good :)

Yeha, wouldn't really call this a poem but very descriptive nonetheless .

Really brings out the devastating disaster that ocurred that day :'/

Yeah, its not really a poem. But its good. Maybe try submitting this to a different section, too, or maybe write more of a detailed poem? :)

I agree, not really a poem, but I think repeating that sounds a bit redundant, anyway. It is very good, though! I guess...Because it wasn't ever something that affected me greatly as an individual, I never really thought about it before...But it's really tragic and sad. :(

this really gets the essence of that horrible earthquake. But (personally) i dont think it is really in poem form, besides that, i love it. Your last line IS PERFECT!
