I Wished For You
I know I wished the night before
But could I ask for just one more?
It’s not that special; not all that grand
I’d just like to hold his hand
And while I’m at it, I’d like to add
One more request on this notepad
For him to come and hold me tight
So I won’t be alone at all tonight
But wait, I forgot another desire
For him to know my heart’s on fire
And I’ll go watch for my shooting star
I’ll go any length, nothing’s too far
‘Cause being with him forever sounds nice
But being with him at all will suffice
And since I’m talking I might as well say
That whenever he’s near it makes my day
I know this is a lot to ask
And if it’s too much; too big a task
I’ll understand and just stick with one
A single wish amidst a ton
Give me a minute to think it through…
I think I’ve got it; I’d wish for you
