Clean
A new beauty, a new thought, a new way to be,
A brand new beginning descending over me.
Pulling me closely as it whispers in my ear,
“The age of change is finally here.”
Confused and bewildered, too dazed to speak,
How will I reply when my voice grows meek?
This call to raise myself from my ashes,
My sins appearing like invisible gashes.
“Wash your body, wash my soul” this spirit commands,
I look into myself, complying with its demands.
I lay out all I’ve done, whether right, whether wrong,
My actions flow together like an immortal song.
And with letting go, I feel righteous. I feel pure,
The bounds on my conscious stress me no more.
This spirit fades away, leaving me to start anew,
I’m now left here on this earth with much good to do.
And a cleansing feeling runs for all to see,
The world can now behold the beauty in me.
