~Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring.
Oscar Wilde

It's hard to understand
My brain starts to feel
like my heart
and each beat hurts
when the words of poem
seem to batter themselves
into my brain without my consent
I want to get them out
because I feel blind
I don't want to be there
because I can't understand the
analogies
the words
they sound pretty
but they hurt and make me feel blind
in the woods
trying to find a way out
how do I make sense of it all
if I can't even feel sane

I stumble and trip over a bark
more words
more analogies that don't make sense
I stand and look down
only to remember I
have lost my sight

it's too complicated and I'm smart
my poems don't make sense
they don't follow any rhythm
they don't rhyme
they don't sound elegant
and sophisticated

So I hate poetry
all I can do is get angry
at my own ignorance

My anger turn to fury
as the pounding gets louder and louder
there is no escape

I am lost even further
it makes my head feel like
the host of a jackhammer

I don't even realize
the whole time
I held the cure
in my hands

I was trying to analyze a poem when I did and realized poetry isn't that bad when you don't understand it.
Seriously poetry is complex but can be fun.

"You never know what it enough until you know what is more than enough."

i think most poets can appreciate the frazzled, frantic minds we share...though our processes are all so different. i am intrigued by the idea of being out of control from our thoughts, their weight, their dominance over our being is something i strongly believe in, and it defines our character. you do a nice job of showing how unfortunately their dominance isn't always a good thing - and I can feel the chaotic imbalance of feeling out of control from ourselves. nice work
