Smoke is Toxic
After this last time, I think I’m done
With all my lies and the weights
That they have on me.
Because now the smoke blocks out the sun
And I don’t have what it takes
To escape and break free.
So what does one do
When knowing comes to an end
When the world is flipped
And all that she knew
Dissolves and descends
While pure love is stripped.
The desperate eyes in the blackness are bright
As I search this dark wild
For any sort of clarity.
What used to be conscience is simply now fright
As I hide here now styled
With unfamiliarity.
Disgusted by what is real,
I count all of my sins one by one.
I’m torn apart.
I seek out a place to heal.
I’m too overwhelmed by what I’ve done.
Goodbye, my heart.
