If I Would Have Known
That night I had so much fun.
I thought things could only get better.
We spent the whole night together,
Dancing away our cares.
I never imaged what would happen
All because I asked him first.
She didn’t know him,
so why would I have to worry
about her flirting with my date.
If I would have known
I would’ve been more careful.
If I would have known,
I may have acted differently.
If I would have known,
Maybe I’d be the one looking into his eyes.
Everything turned around.
It happened in a flash
All because she called
Without asking me first.
We could have avoided everything
If she had just called me.
I wish I could ask
why she did it.
What made her think
I wouldn’t care if she asked him out.
It hurt me so much.
She told me she was taking him to the dance.
It opened up my eyes to something
I wished wasn’t true.
She knew I liked him,
but she didn’t care.
I hope she knows how much pain it caused
For me to tell her, “Go ahead, he likes you more.”
Now I ask myself,
If I would have known,
Would I do anything differently?
If I would have known,
Would I have been more careful?
If I would have known,
Would I be the one looking into his eyes?
His beautiful eyes, hearing those words
Instead of standing here
with tears rolling down my cheeks.
If only I would have known.

If this is a true poem: Wow that sucks... but I mean I know most people say, oh your too good for him, but that's not true. And yet he's neither better than you. You guys are just not right for each other, but one day maybe you'll get lucky and find someone who is... hahhaha don't we all wish lol
I liked your poem, I thought it was really meaningful/deep and I liked how you kept bring up questions... I loved the ending/last stanza=]
