I spent hours and hours crying myself to sleep.
I never figured out why God chose this for me.
The first two weeks in middle school.
I was called out all the time because she was dying.

She'd been in the hospital for almost a month.
Procedures had been done, medicine had been given.
Nothing was working, they failed.
Doctors aren't suppose to fail, or are they?
Maybe it was her body that failed them.
Maybe it was God who failed everybody.
Why would God fail somebody?

After a month, after they failed everything.
They completely gave up, they sent her off.
To Alive Hospice, a place for people to die.
I loved seeing my mom, until she quit speaking.
I was scared and she couldn't say a thing.

September 3rd, she woke up.
Suddenly she had strength to speak.
She told me she loved me.
That's all.
A week later, she was gone.
